Necromancers of the Putrid Hand are very skilled in the dark arts of magic. Resenting their imposed exile from the Mages Guild, they have formed their own enclave where to expand their knowledge and power. Since they are officially considered enemies of the ruling Mage class in the Imperial City, they do not take kindly to those that intrude on their newfound lairs. Renowned for his skill in commanding the occult forces of life and death, Master Lien Valeth quickly became the leader of this rising sect of fearsome necromancers. Their now secretive existence has forced them to become acquainted with those schools of magic that would aid them in remaining unseen and unheard. Recently, Master Valeth discovered the trace of ancient relics of undead power that, if found and harnessed, may change the future of Cyrodiil itself.

Putrid Hand necromancers come in the following varieties:

  • Putrid Hand Initiate: Initiates are less powerful, though no less dangerous than their masters. They wear special robes and lower-class shoes, and are armed with a random blunt weapon and/or staff. They carry a variety of scrolls and potions. Initiates range from L14 to L24 (PC -5 to PC +5).
  • Putrid Hand Master: Masters are, obviously, much more powerful. They wear magical robes and lower-class shoes, and are armed with a random blunt weapon and/or staff. In addition to the usual potions and scrolls, masters carry some empty soul gems, poisons, and a black soul gem. They range from L24 to L32 (PC +2 to PC +8).
